lime rickeys are by far my favorite summer drink of all time. i love mine with grape flavoring.
im not sure if its just me... but does it seem like everyone has forgotten about this amazing beverage? if so, here i am to save the day and re-introduce all of you to the lime rickey.
there are many different recipe variations for this drink. basically, you want to combine grape and lime flavors in a carbonated liquid. that being said, feel free to use soda water, lemon/lime soda, grape soda, lime juice, grape juice, fresh limes, grape syrup, (i do not recommend fresh grapes though) or any combination of these. play around until you find the perfect ratios for your taste buds. i like mine with lots of grape syrup and fresh squeezed lime juice! and if youre looking to get really crazy, try using an alternative to the grape flavor. perhaps raspberry, cherry, mango, pinapple... anything you fancy!
I like to serve in a chilled glass or over crushed ice with a few fresh squeezed lime wedges and a little umbrella!
now that the sun is shining every single day, its time to start a sunglass addiction! i prefer the shape of cat eyes and have quite the collection. here are a few of my favorite cat eye sunnies if you are looking to add to your collection or start a brand new one!
once upon a time (on saturday) while i was walking to work, wearing this (not so glamorous) outfit, a stranger called at me from across the street by yelling, "dita!!!!" as the guy began to cross the street to make his way to me, i started to panic! flattered as i was (of course) to be mistaken for dita, i was much more embarrassed. not only am i socially awkward to begin with. i couldnt think of what to say. so i just waived and called out, "sorry to disappoint..." i started walking even faster and didnt look back. poor guy. maybe if i wasnt so awkward i would have stopped and chatted and giggled about the mistaken identity. but nope, i was off and running.
i suppose key factors like polished hair, cat eye glasses, and an overall retro aesthetic are to blame. but i cant help but think that the poor guys needs glasses.
anyway... this incident got me to thinking... why am i so shy, anxious, and socially awkward around people i dont know? and how do i change this and be more personable?
the convention was really good this year! it was nice to see old friends and make some new ones. sorry, i didnt take any photos at the convention, my hands were busy carrying various items. i found so many things that i wanted to take home, but only made one purchase.
i have long been a fan of all things prada, but when i first saw the spring/summer 2012 line, my heart skipped a beat! im sure most of you have seen it by now, but if you have not, youre in for a real treat. now that the weather is warming up i daydream about owning any one of these pieces, or all of them (lets be honest).
hot rod/classic car inspired fashion... nothing gets better than that!
