bathroom envy.

i am in the process of revamping my bathroom decor and have been looking at amazing vintage bathrooms. mine pales in comparison to any of these, but at least its vintage!

man, they just dont make anything like they used to, do they! i mean seriously, where did all the character and pizzaz go? nowadays it seems like everything is so plain and boring. call it minimalism if you like, but i prefer the loud, over the top designs and attention to detail of yesteryear.

here i am at home sick, hoping i dont have pneumonia (is that what it is when your lungs hurt so bad you dont want to breath???)

but id rather be at a show tonight at burts tiki lounge, or perhaps even making the short drive up to park city and attending the sundance film festival. oh well, i suppose drinking tea out of my favorite "bitch, bitch, bitch" vintage mug and loading up on the meds is much better than meeting and partying with d-list celebrities. right?

my favorite local dive.

burts tiki lounge is my favorite venue to consume pabst and take in great music. the stage is small and the setting is intimate, just as any great dive should be. 

milo, my partner in crime joined me for two nights of burts festivities. anytime we go anywhere together it seems to turn out interesting... to say the least!

the first band we saw was the blue moon bombers. milo and i were smitten the second they covered a danzig song. they were really great and mikey their stand up bass player bought us some barley pop and gave me a band shop rag. thanks mikey!

the other band we saw was mayson lee and the rock & roll space studs. mayson is a pint sized pistol whom i absolutely fell in love with. we became fast friends, mostly thanks to the fact that i was intoxicated enough to be social and introduce myself. hopefully this is the beginning of a fun new friendship!

i look forward to many more nights at burts. and if you happen to see me there, dont be shy!

makeover.

if you know me then you already know how much i love black and white stripes. i cant get enough of them! i have always wanted black and white striped walls and yesterday i made my own wish come true. 

nine hours and two rolls of tape later, my living room looks amazing!

i think i can safely say that no visual imagery inspires me as much as the photographs of tim walker. if you read vogue im sure you are very familiar with his work. if this is your first time seeing his images, i hope he becomes one of your favorites aswell.
