here are a few festivities that i took part in over the weekend.
of course we celebrated cinco de mayo by going to our favorite mexican resteraunt. you would not believe how much begging i had to do to get the mr. to pose for this photo haha!
we attended the 70th birthday party for mr. lynn carlson. boy was that a good time. if you have never met lynn, you are missing out. this man has stories and experiences to boot!
for example... this fancy gold sequined jacket that you see mr. bo huff wearing belongs to lynn. now lynn told me that this jacket was custom made for him by elvis's (yes, THE elvis) taylor. very strange, i know.
lynn had a wonderful live band play in one of his many garages. there was dancing, and beer, and a room of mirrors, and a hotrod limo, and an amazing strawberry cake, and ping pong, and very strange people, and cops, and much, much more. all in all, a very good birthday bash!
we also attended a "car show" this past weekend. now, let me just say that i had very high hopes for this show because i absolutely loved the idea: a creepy car show at a haunted house where pin-ups would be zombified and bloody. whats not to love about that!
lets just say that it did not turn out to be everything i dreamed. but it was not a complete waste of time because i was able to see and touch this beauty.
a beautiful buick hearse is now officially on my dream car list!
this car show was advertised as a "first annual". i can only hope that the organizers up their game next year because i think it could be really amazing!
sorry for my absence as of late. i really dont have a great excuse. anyway, here are some photos of the mr. and my summer project!
we got rid of the '53 which made a lot more room in the back yard to work on the '54.
The '54 buick special is the mr.'s baby. and of course i adore her too! we got her very early in our relationship and he always tells people that he knew he loved me when i asked if i could please go with him on the six hour drive to pick her up.
we have not been able to work on her nearly as much as we would like. you know, when you have the money, you dont have the time, and vise versa. but we are thinking that this is going to be the summer. we have lots of great friends and plenty of pabst to help with this project. we are hoping to drive her to viva next year!
does anyone else have any big summer projects going on?
a week has gone by since viva and i am just now getting around to looking through photos and posting. i did not take nearly as many photos as i would have liked, nor did the quality of most of the photos turn out great (thanks to four straight days of pabst consumption). anyway... here are some of the photos from festivities that took place indoors:
i was so excited to meet holly of temperamental broad and be able to take a photo with her. she is so stinkin cute and little in real life!
this is the main ballroom. so big and pretty and perfect to watch big bands and dance!
these are the gentlemen in the ballroom looking tough for us ladies.
